Checklist for Preparing Documents
You run DL to prepare a new document. Then you use your word processing software (usually Microsoft Word or Corel WordPerfect) to retrieve, edit and print the Output File. The file usually is in the default directory c:\dlwin.
Here's a checklist in greater detail:
Start the DL program
by clicking on the DL Ver. 9 icon on
your desktop.
You can use answers from a prior run of the library. For example, you might want to prepare a second draft of a document. A question lets you point to Index Files containing answers from prior runs of the library. When you point to an Index File the program shows you the name of the Output File the answers were used to create as well as any comment you may have entered. If you do not want to use prior answers pick <No Index>. See Using Prior Answers.
Answer the displayed questions. Click Next (the Right Arrow button) or press the Enter key to move to the next question. You can back up to prior questions using the Left Arrow button or the PgUp key.
Save you answers for possible future use. A question will ask whether you want to save your answers from this run of the program for possible future use. If you elect to do so, an index number will be assigned to your answers.
Use your word processing software to retrieve, edit and print the
document. The program will
display the name of the Output File and the directory in which it is located
(usually c:\dlwin). If you
use Microsoft
Word or Corel WordPerfect,
DL will let you start you word processing
software and retrieve the Output File with a single click. See One-Click
File Retrieval. You can retrieve the Output File at any time by using
Option B of the DL
Main Menu.
